Aiming High: Summer Reflection

First of all I'd just like to say that I am finally over it, and it feels so good. Surprisingly it took shorter than I thought it would. I'm sure all my friends have already started to get annoyed by my weekly stories. Even though it's all over and done with, I won't forget any of it. I won't lie, I still replay those memories we had together through my head when I'm bored because I'm such a hopeless romantic. Even though it seems like everyone is hooking up this year, I will not let myself become desperate. I know that there will be something in store for me later on in life, so for how I will just wait until the time is right. Just thinking about it makes me excited. Haha.

Anyways, onto what I really wanted to talk about: my summer. I know that summer is long gone, but there was just too much that went on in the summer to not talk about. This summer I learned many things mostly that many things were not what I expected. Aside from being disappointed, I learned more about myself and more about God. One thing that really stuck out this summer was meeting two very inspiring and talented men. I'm just lost for words when I think about you guys. It is always so much fun to be around you two. When I received your guys’ first ICON e-mail I knew this summer would be an interesting one. Seeing as how you guys already have so many notes/blogs/posts dedicated to you, I was contemplating whether or not to write you guys one too but heck I decided to do it anyways. Chris, despite your wacky hair I'm actually quite intimidated by you. I actually proof read whatever I post on your facebook (lol yea I’m weird, I know).The way you live your life, the way you act, it is really evident that you are a man of God. Sunday school teachers have always said, as Christians we should show the world that we are different. I never really understood how we would be different. Different as in we go to Church every Sunday morning and Friday evening? No, we are different because we are suppose to be humble, different because we are suppose to have the holy spirit working in us, different because we are suppose to show love and compassion to everyone not just our friends and families but even the people that annoy the crap out of us. There are so many Christians out there, yet so little of them have this thirst and passion for God inside of them and you and Petey have it.

As for Petey, you’re a goof ball. I love the way you talk and I love your reactions, you are hilarious. You are the only person that actually plays along when I talk in my fake Indian accent. I feel so carefree when I’m around you, so much that I shared with you my super embarrassing poo story. When you sing, your voice just blows me away. It’s crazy at how talented you are musically. Sometimes I would feel that you guys were just our “friends” because it was part of your job, but I know that that’s not true…right? You guys have made a big impact on my spiritual life this summer and I want to thank you for that. I really don’t know what else to say, but I love you two so much. And I feel so blessed to have met you guys.
